The Holy Spirit is not an abstract force, a feeling, or an impersonal power. He is God—fully divine, fully personal, and actively at work in the world and in the lives of believers. As the third Person of the Trinity, the Holy Spirit reveals the heart of the Father, glorifies the Son, and applies the work of redemption to God’s people.

In this Bible Digs series, we will explore who the Holy Spirit is and how He works. From His role as the indwelling presence of God, to His gifting of the Church, to His ministry as Counselor, Teacher, and Spirit of Truth, Scripture presents the Holy Spirit as essential to both faith and daily Christian living.

We will examine how the Spirit inspired the authors of Scripture, convicts the world of sin, righteousness, and judgment, and fulfills the promise given by the Father and sent by the Son. We will also study what it means to be filled with the Spirit, how He reminds and teaches believers, and how the seven-fold Spirit reflects the fullness of God’s work and character.

Finally, we will look at the visible evidence of the Spirit’s work in the believer’s life through the Fruit of the Spirit—beginning with love and joy—marks of transformation that flow from walking in step with Him.

As we dig into Scripture together, our aim is not merely knowledge, but deeper dependence on and obedience to the Holy Spirit, who leads us into truth and empowers us to live for the glory of God.
