God continues to steer the vessel here at Grace Christian Academy and we are all thankful for it. The moment we start to take control is when things get shaky and can eventually get us off the Jesus target. Let us give thanks that through every change, we can stand on a firm foundation through it all.

As most of you know, my full time role as Head Administrator at GCA will be coming to an end this summer. And while I will be staying on as the Director of Discipleship at the school along with the Upper Level Principal, I will be in a different role than I have been for the last 12 years. In addition, Mrs. Bisterfeldt and Mrs. Wied will also be in different administrative roles. And while this is more of an internal change and should not greatly impact the dynamics of the school, change always brings questions like, “how will this work now?”

It is times like this that we can be very thankful that we have a God that never changes. His promises are eternal. His attributes are imperishable. And His Word is absolute Truth. That alone gives us a new mindset–a Christ mindset. We can always know that there is One that knows everything AND we have full access to His presence. So rather than taking a pathway of the world in anxiety, stress, and uncertainty when changes come our way, we can stand firm in our trust in the One that takes it all. Our mindset shifts from worry about the situation to a sense of wonder and awe in how our Lord will step us through it all and receive glory in the process. What happens in us as believers is that we literally become excited for what the changes bring because we know God’s will is in the middle of it all. His ways are certainly higher than our ways! –Isaiah 55:8-9

So let’s continue to stand on our solid rock and firm foundation with every season of change. When we do, we can then look forward to what awaits us.

“Anyone who listens to my teaching and follows it is wise, like a person who builds a house on solid rock. Though the rain comes in torrents and the floodwaters rise and the winds beat against that house, it won’t collapse because it is built on bedrock.” –Matthew 7:24-25
