For the first time in three years we celebrated graduation at Grace Christian Academy. It was one of the hardest, yet most precious events that I have been a part of as Head Administrator at GCA. Three of our long-time students (one of which was my own daughter) who started in 1st and 2nd grade have moved on to a new season where they will now be leaving GCA to Leave a Legacy for Christ in the world. This was increasingly emotional for me not only because my own daughter was graduating, but the two other girls are like daughters to me because they have been at the school so long. It is indeed the end of an era as these girls were there from the beginning when GCA opened its doors back in Pulaski of 2014/15.
This significant event in the lives of our graduates, parents, and school reminded me of the many changes and different seasons that we must walk in this world. While some changes we look forward to, there are others that present challenges, even hardship–all of which Jesus said we would experience in this fallen world. I am so thankful for the comforting words of Jesus in Matthew 28:20 where He says: “And be sure of this: I am with you always even unto the end of the age.” Praise God that through every change of season he is our rock and firm foundation upon which we can stand. When we need strength to make it into a new era, God goes with us and does not abandon his beloved children. In addition, there will come a day where changes that bring sadness will be gone! Revelation 21:4 says, ” He will wipe every tear from their eyes, and there will be no more death or sorrow or crying or pain. All these things are gone forever.” What comforting words knowing that goodbyes that can bring sadness in this fallen world will be no more in eternity with Jesus. All things will be made new! Lastly, it gives me great joy knowing what the world is gaining for the glory of God in this graduate class of 2026. They have hope in the Gospel, trust in His Word, identity in Christ, and a strong calling to go and make more disciples. As Jesus said, you will know my disciples by their fruit, and it is fulfilling to know that we have three more disciples that will now shine brightly for Him to a world that is desperate for Jesus!
So look to the days ahead with confidence! While we end an era at GCA, there is more work to be done with a new era of students ready to take the mantle. They too will be well equipped and ready to leave a legacy for Christ in all they do.
Have a great summer and let’s leave a legacy!
