There are so many things going on at this time of year.  It is easy to get caught up in a lot of activities throughout this season.  As believers, it can be particularly challenging because we know that Jesus needs to be in the center of what we do everyday and it seems at this time of year (a time of year that people are very open to God compared to other times) we slide into a flurry of running rather than being proclaimers of our faith to the world.

Why do we do this? It should be natural and easy to share Jesus Christ above all other things at this time of the year, right?  I believe it is our daily spiritual warfare in action.  Our enemy, the devil, knows this is an opportune time to share the gospel message of Jesus Christ too, so he puts obstacles in our way that can pull us away from being messengers unto Christ.

As believers, it is important to consistently remember that we are not fighting against flesh and blood enemies (people), but against rulers, authorities, dark powers and evil of the unseen world (the devil). –Ephesians 6:12.

ne musical piece that always helps me to stay focused at this time of year is Handel’s Messiah.  I find it brings me a good balance of the season because while it draws me into Christmas and everything that tradition, family, and festivities are a part of, it also keeps the center of my attention on Jesus Christ because the oratorio is all about the Gospel of Jesus Christ.  As we gather together this Christmas, let’s not leave CHRIST out of Christmas.  We have ample opportunity to share our faith with many this Christmas season.  Are our hearts ready to engage?  If we truly understand the meaning of Christmas, then we will speak about nothing else because the incarnate Christ, the Messiah, will always come to the forefront of our day.

To Him be all the glory, King of Kings and Lord of Lords, forever and ever!  Amen and Merry Christmas.
