At Grace Christian Academy, discipleship is not just a program—it is the foundation of everything we do. From our staff to our students, we are committed to growing together in faith, accountability, and Christ-like love.
Discipleship Begins with Our Staff
We believe that to effectively disciple students, our staff must first disciple one another. Each day begins with a staff devotional and prayer, setting the tone for a Christ-centered school environment. We engage in one-on-one staff support, ensuring that every member of our team is encouraged, equipped, and held accountable in their spiritual and professional walk. This ongoing commitment strengthens our community and allows us to model authentic discipleship for our students.
Intentional Student Mentorship
Discipleship extends beyond the classroom through our proactive mentorship program with upper-level students. Each student is assigned a staff mentor who meets with them regularly to provide spiritual guidance, emotional support, and practical wisdom for navigating life’s challenges. Through these relationships, students receive encouragement in their faith, learn to make Christ-centered choices, and gain confidence in their identity as children of God.
Recognizing Every Child’s Unique Purpose
We see each student as a beloved child of God with a unique purpose and giftings. This year, our staff and families have explored the book The 8 Great Smarts, helping children identify their God-given intelligences—whether they are word-smart, logic-smart, people-smart, or beyond. By recognizing how each child is uniquely created, we intentionally seek ways to encourage, nurture, and elevate them in their strengths while equipping them to serve God with confidence.
Teaching Emotional Stewardship & Conflict Resolution
Discipleship also means helping students steward their emotions and respond to conflict with grace. While many schools have a no-bullying policy, we take it a step further by viewing every challenge as an opportunity for growth, accountability, and forgiveness. We acknowledge that human nature can lead to conflict, even in Spirit-filled environments. However, rather than simply enforcing rules, our staff intentionally guides students through biblical discipline, teaching them to restore dignity, seek reconciliation, and demonstrate Christ-like love in every situation. To further support this, we are working through The Young Peacemaker as a school, helping students learn how to navigate conflict in a God-honoring way and develop the skills needed for biblical reconciliation.
Living Out True Discipleship
At GCA, being discipleship-driven means that our mission goes beyond academics—we are raising up students to be spiritually mature, emotionally resilient, and deeply rooted in Christ. Whether through daily devotions, one-on-one mentorship, recognizing unique talents, or handling conflict with grace, we are committed to preparing students not just for success in this world, but for a life dedicated to serving and glorifying God.
