Dress Code Overview
This dress code overview is not an exhuastive explanation, for more information check out our student handbook, starting on page 15.
Elementary (PreK-5)

Tops: π«No pictures, symbols, or any writing allowed. β Modest sparkles, flowers, organic patters (plants or animals), and geometric shapes are OK. β Small logos 1″ diameter or less allowed.

Bottoms: π«No holes, worn/faded, fraying. π«No extremely tight fitting, accentuating body form. π« No leggings EXEPT beneath dresses, skirts, and long shirts hanging over the thigh. π« No patterns – ONLY solid colors allowed. β All other pants including Jeans, Cargo, β Shorts, skirts, and dresses – knee length or longer, modest and appropriate for the days activities.

Shoes: π« No sandals or open footwear. β Closed-toe and closed-heel required. β Athletic shoes are acceptable. β Dress shoes or modest appearing crossover shoes acceptable.
Middle (Grades 6-8)

Tops: (YOUNG MEN) Shirts must be collared. (YOUNG WOMEN) Shirts must be short sleeve or longer and semi-casual. β Knit cotton polos are acceptable as well as dress shirts. β Nice sweaters and crewneck sweatshirts are also acceptable. π« No sports sweatshirts or hoodies. π« No T-shirts. β GCA School Apparel (including GCA logo’d t-shirts) may be worn on Fridays and during field trips.

LMA (Grades 9-12)

Tops: All outermost apparel is required to be logo’d. Short sleeves are allowed but cannot be covered by an unlogo’d apparel item like a sweater. (YOUNG MEN) Shirts must be collared. (YOUNG WOMEN) Shirts must be short sleeve or longer and semi-casual. β Knit cotton polos are acceptable as well as dress shirts. β Nice sweaters and crewneck sweatshirts are also acceptable. π« No sports sweatshirts or hoodies. π« No T-shirts.

Key General Rules (All Levels)

Clothing must be clean, modest, fitted appropriately, and free from holes, tears, or offensive imagery/designs .

Undergarments, midriffs, and logos (other than GCA) must be fully covered. Check that shirts do not reveal midriffs when raising hand, lifting, sitting, or bending over.

Hats, outerwear, and hoodies: all outerwear are not to be worn except in preparation to go outdoors.

Shoes must be school-appropriateβno open heels or bedroom shoes; athletic shoes only for designated activities.

PE uniforms:
(5th level and down): Dress children appropriately for physical movement on PE days. You will be notified of your childβs schedule so that you can plan for this. Feel free to leave a pair of gym shoes at school.
(6th level and up): All students in grades 6 and up will be issued a GCA PE t-shirt to be worn only during PE class. Students are responsible for supplying their own school-approved athletic pants or shorts (to be pre-approved by Mr. Johnson) and a pair of athletic shoes for class.
π§Ί PE uniforms will be stored at school during the week and must be taken home on Fridays to be washed and returned clean on Monday.π At the end of the school year, all GCA t-shirts must be washed and returned to the school.
